Infant Development Program
The Infant Development Program (IDP) serves children from birth to three years old, who are at risk for, or who already have a delay in development. It's an opportunity...
For parents to:
- Learn ways to encourage your child's development
- Meet other parents
- Discuss parenting issues
- Make the best use of other community resources and activities
For your baby to:
- Become more independent
- Discover abilities
- Learn new skills
We also do several groups for our families at NONA:
- The Parent-Child Mother Goose Program: This program came into being because of the simple truth that rhymes can enrich and make smoother the lives shared by babies and adults. During a session parents sit in a circle on the floor with their babies on their laps and they do rhymes together. Here at NONA, the Mother Goose program has the usual fun of learning rhymes, but has also had a special focus on the development of premature babies.
- Sometimes we offer Infant Massage. We have been very lucky to work with the Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy to offer families involved with NONA, a 6-week session of massage. There are lots of opportunity for students and parents to learn from each other!
- Let's Play is an integrated playgroup for 2-year-olds where children are provided with opportunities to explore a new and positive environment away from home. Emphasis is on positive interactions and exchanges between the children, as well as gentle preparation for separation from parents
- The coffee's always on at the Connections, our Parent-Tot
Drop-In! Here families involved with NONA have an informal
opportunity to connect, share and play together.
